Pondering the First Quadrant of this School Year

Alas, the first quarter of the school year 2025–2026 is reaching a conclusion. It is hard to believe that this is my 4th and last JHS year. Many struggles, achievements, assignments, and quizzes have led to this point. Though this means I have one more year where I can make new discoveries, friends, and improvements. Improvements in academics, physical and mental fitness, social wellness, and many more. Although this quarter had only lasted ~2 months, I would like to ponder the wonderful experiences I have encountered.

In these two months of continuous learning, have I gained anything valuable?

To start, science had taught me a portion of the Earth's history. Research recapitulated the processes and guidelines. Basic Electronics, a new subject, expounded on basic circuitry and resistors. Math introduced different types of sequences. English gave me knowledge not only of textual aids but also of story analysis. A valuable skill that I am always trying to master. Filipino had a similar teaching; the stories were fairly difficult to comprehend, but they sure were interesting. EsP continued the topics I learned last school year while also adding new content. AP was the most helpful in terms of real-life scenarios; it refreshed my awareness and knowledge on disaster and waste management. MAPEH, being a diverse subject, opened different paths about the history of arts and music, recapitulated physical wellness, and gave insights into various health topics. Always a lively subject to be honest. Last but not least, ICT tackled the history of the internet along with blogging.

With all the knowledge from these ten subjects, I can say that I have learned things for real-world applications and made discoveries about the past.

Straying away from academics, last month was dedicated to spreading awareness on nutrition. My experiences in that month can be found in my previous blog. The month was exciting, but it also did a great job of opening many people's eyes to nutrition. One of those people is me. I have been leaning more toward nutritious foods and away from junk. This simple but effective mindset has made me feel better about my decisions.

However, life, like an ocean, does not flow in a linear state. It has high and low times.

I have had challenges my whole life that I had to overcome. This time, I want to consider the problems I have faced during the first quarter. The most prominent and punishing was laziness. Although there was this feeling that I had to finish a task at hand, I still decided to put it off until such hours. As punishment, I had less time and more anxiety. Thankfully, I have found myself conquering it slowly but surely. Another significant problem that had occurred to me was retaining information. My memory is not the greatest, nor is it good. I found proof of this when memorizing the Internet Timeline. I had days, even weeks, to nail the information in my memory, but it was no use. I have decided that in the following vacations, I will try to improve my memory not just for the sake of passing exams but also to be able to learn more.

Moving on, I will make sure to push myself to achieve the goal of getting high honors. Moreover, I will use knowledge from this quarter and the previous years to excel in the upcoming 3 quadrants. Furthermore, I will find solutions to these problems and difficulties I have faced. Having them for longer will only ruin me and my wellness.

Lastly, I am more than thankful for my teachers who have dedicated their lives to our future, and my friends who kept me motivated to excel. If you are reading this, keep going with your goals. You will achieve them in no time.
